Your pet is a precious member of your family, and they deserve a long and happy life with you. Yet when their health starts failing, their quality of life can suffer. When this happens, it could be time to consider pet euthanasia. The team at Creekside Animal Clinic is here to walk with you on this difficult journey.
Our Euthanasia Services
We offer humane and compassionate euthanasia at our animal clinic and have a designated room for the procedure where you and your family can be comfortable. Our room has a side door that you can access without having to go through the lobby. You and your family can be comfortable on our couch and take as much time as you need to say your final goodbyes.
The Procedure
First, we will make sure your pet is comfortable and may sedate them so they are calm and don’t feel any discomfort. When you are ready, we’ll administer the euthanasia medication. The medicine will work very quickly, and your pet will pass on in seconds. Please keep in mind that once your pet has gone, their body may involuntarily twitch. This is not a sign of pain or discomfort; it is simply the muscles fully relaxing. Urination and the release of the bowels are possible too—it is all part of the natural process.
After-Care Decisions
It’s best to make plans for your pet’s after-care before the procedure so that we can quickly prepare the body for whatever is needed. We work with Hummel Pet Services who provides burial ceremonies and cremations. You can also make private arrangements on your own if you prefer.
